The Ravens host the Bills in a great Sunday Night Football matchup. Here is how to bet on the game at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Ravens (-2.5) vs. Bills o/u 46.5
Ravens Team Breakdown
The Ravens picked up a huge win against the Cowboys last week to save themselves from going 0-3. They won by playing their brand of football, which is just running it down the opposing defense’s throat. They ran the ball three times more than they passed and Derrick Henry looked like Derrick Henry for the first time since going to the Ravens. This team seems to have found its offensive identity and should be able to carry that going forward.
The Ravens’ defense looked much better against Dallas as well. The stats for the entire game don’t look as good because the Cowboys were throwing for the entire second half to attempt a comeback, but overall, the Ravens’ defense looked great. The Cowboys couldn’t run the ball at all and most importantly, the Ravens took away CeeDee Lamb, limiting him to just four catches.
Bills Team Breakdown
The Bills’ offense has been incredible to start the season. They rank first in the league in EPA/play and their offense has found a real rhythm between the run game and the short-pass game to RB James Cook and the tight ends. Josh Allen is having an MVP-type season, which has gotten the Bills off to a 3-0 start. That being said, this game against the Ravens will be by far their biggest test of the season so far. They needed a comeback to beat the Cardinals in Week 1, beat the Dolphins who lost Tua Tagovailoa during the game and have a bad defense, then beat the Jaguars who are in total disarray this season.
The Bills are a really good team but this game will be a much better measuring stick of how good they are compared to the rest of the league. The Ravens were a toe away from having a chance to beat the Chiefs on a 2-point conversion and they dominated the Cowboys for three quarters last week. This will be a great test for the Bills’ defense that had a lot of question marks entering the season to see how they hold up against an elite offense.
Pick and Prediction
These are two of the most run-heavy teams in the NFL. Buffalo is fifth in the league in rush play percentage and the Ravens are seventh. The Ravens are the best team in the NFL in EPA/rush and Buffalo has melded its run game and short-pass game perfectly. So, this game will likely come down to who has a better chance of stopping their opponent’s rushing attack. The Ravens are second in the league in defensive rush EPA and the Bills are 27th. Baltimore is the best in the NFL at yards per rush attempt allowed and the Bills are 24th.
The Ravens should be able to take the same approach as last week against the Cowboys and just run all over this Bills defense, which is really weak at the linebacker position. That effective run game will then open up a few chances for Lamar Jackson to take shots down the field and hit a few big passes. This Ravens defense will be the best unit the Bills have faced this season and they should be able to slow down their offense. I am rolling with the Ravens to win this game and cover the -2.5, and I am betting the under as well.
Best Bet: Ravens -2.5, u46.5
