No player in the NFL has more pass attempts per game than Caleb Williams ($5,600) coming into Week 4, and last week alone the Bears trusted the No. 1 pick in last year’s draft to fling it a whopping 52 times as they tried to come back against the Colts. This week, the Bears have a juicy matchup against the Rams. With so many pass attempts, the Bears offense should produce plenty of fantasy goodness in Week 5.
The question is, though, which receiver will get the love? Will it be Keenan Allen, D.J. Moore or Rome Odunze?
The Bears may have a full group at the position for the first time since Week 1 since veteran Keenan Allen ($6,100; heel) was listed as questionable. He was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday and then got in a full practice Friday, which could indicate he’s on track to return.
When Allen played back in Week 1, he had a team-high 11 targets and finished with four catches for 29 yards. In that game, Rome Odunze ($5,200) was limited to just four snaps and 2.1 fantasy points, but while Allen missed games, Odunze stepped up.
In Week 2, it was D.J. Moore’s ($6,700) turn to lead the team, drawing ten targets and hauling in six passes for 53 yards. He matched that target total in Week 3 but had eight catches for 78 yards. While he has hit double-digit fantasy points in every game, he hasn’t produced over 16 fantasy points in any contest and has yet to find the end zone.
While Moore has been consistent, it was Odunze who was the first receiver to hit 100+ yards in any game. He caught 6-of-11 targets for 112 yards and his first NFL touchdown in Week 3, as he posted 26.4 fantasy points in the Bears’ loss to Indy.
If Allen is back in the mix, Rome’s workload could be limited. But the upside he brings long-term and his connection with Williams is too vital for the Bears to exclusively go back to the veterans at the top of the depth chart.
They’ll likely include all three receivers as much as possible in the game plan whenever Allen is ready to return, but that could limit their upside since they’ll all have to share targets. There is some good potential in this matchup, though, since the Rams have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing receivers and were torn up last week by Jauan Jennings ($5,600).
Of the three receivers, Odunze is the best DFS play this week, including in the NFL $3.25M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st]. Not only is he significantly cheaper than Moore and Allen, he also brings the highest ceiling and the most dynamic playmaking ability. Allen may also be eased back in, so he’s especially high-risk given his salary.
The Bears are three-point home favorites against the Rams and Odunze represents good value at +320 to score a touchdown.
