DeAndre Hopkins Start or Sit: Week 4 Fantasy Football Advice

Updated:

By: Alex Hunter

Recovering from an offseason knee injury, Hopkins has been limited this season thus far. But he has seen more work each week, and this past Sunday vs. the Packers, the former Pro-Bowler finally looked like his old self. He finished with 19.3 FPTs.

Hopkins led the Titans with a season-high seven targets, and he caught six of these passes for 73 yards and his first touchdown of the season. Hopkins was on the field for 46% of the snaps in this contest and he ran a route on 50% of his team’s dropbacks, both of which are season-highs for the veteran. Most importantly, Hopkins was target on an elite 32% of those routes, including one redzone target.

The 32-year-old is generating a strong 0.32 FPTS per snap over the last two seasons and should log over 50% of the snaps for the first time this season this coming Monday vs. the Dolphins. Miami is the ninth-worst graded defense on PFF and their defense has been vulnerable through the air, surrendering the sixth most yards per pass this season (7.4). When Hopkins last faced the Dolphins during Week 14 of last season, the wideout erupted for 28.4 FPTS, thanks to seven catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.

While Hopkins doesn’t bring the safest floor given he won’t see a full complement of snaps, the receiver is trending up right now and is worth starting in this plus matchup vs. Miami.
