The Philadelphia Eagles have caught the injury bug, and DeVonta Smith is the latest player to get banged up. Smith was hit by Saints DT Khristian Boyd during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game. Smith caught seven passes for 79 yards before leaving the game. It was revealed later that Smith had suffered a concussion, and it is unknown when he will be able to return to the field. Without A.J. Brown, Smith’s production has increased over the past two weeks. He had 10 targets in each of the past two weeks before getting injured.
With Brown and Smith still not practicing as of Wednesday, TE Dallas Goedert ($5,100) is the new No. 1 option for QB Jalen Hurts and this Eagles offense. Goedert had the best performance of his career against the Saints, catching 10 passes for 170 yards. Goedert had 30 FPTS in his third game of the season and was an essential part of the Eagles’ comeback victory on Sunday. He’s also the No. 1 TE this season in Fantasy Football and has a good chance of continuing his success from Week 3.
The Eagles’ receiving core is depleted, and they will need to focus on their run game and find as many opportunities as possible to get Goedert involved. With Brown and Smith out, Jahan Dotson would be the team’s No. 1 WR, but his first season in Philadelphia has gotten off to a slow start. In a full game without their top two options, Goedert could get upwards of 15-plus targets.
With a price tag of $5,100 for DraftKings Daily Fantasy, that is a steal as he will have a large percentage of the targets from Hurts this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Goedert is the sixth highest-priced TE and is a must-add to your lineups for Week 4. The TE position hasn’t been great this season but Goedert proved to be the exception in Week 3.
