The undefeated Vikings roll into Green Bay this weekend, and they may be getting some help at wide receiver. If Jordan Addison ($5,100) is able to play for the first time since Week 1, will Jalen Nailor ($4,900) still be a usable fantasy option?
In each of the last two games while Addison was out, Nailor stepped up and produced three catches and a touchdown in each contest. He had 14.4 fantasy points against the 49ers and 12.4 fantasy points against the Texans.
In Week 1 with Addison active, Nailor only had one target, which he snagged on a 21-yard touchdown. Nailor played 47% of snaps in Week 1, while Addison played 51%. With Addison out, Nailor’s snap percentage jumped to 93% and 86%, respectively.
Here’s his touchdown in Week 3 on a bullet from Sam Darnold:
Even if Addison is worked back in slowly at first, Nailor’s fantasy value will definitely take a hit. Remember, both these receivers are battling for leftovers after Justin Jefferson ($8,700), who can be a target hog when healthy. If Addison and Jefferson are both available, Nailor drops well outside the top 35 wide receivers for me. However, he can still be used as an emergency flex play if you think he’ll keep getting red zone looks.
For DFS contests in Week 4, Nailor at $4,900 is a little to touchdown-reliant for my liking, especially if Addison returns to action. Other options I like more at a similar salary include Darnell Mooney ($4,400), Tutu Atwell ($4,800) and even Diontae Johnson ($5,600), if you can find the salary savings in other spots.
The Vikings are three-point underdogs on the road against the Packers, with the over/under set at 43.5. Nailor is +285 to score a touchdown, while Addison’s odds are slightly longer at +300.
