Thursday night’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants has a total of 45 points, so touchdowns will likely be scored. But who will score the first one?
On DK Sportsbook, CeeDee Lamb is currently the favorite at +450. It makes sense because Lamb leads the team in targets with 24. The Giants blitz at the second-highest rate and play man defense at the 12th-highest rate, but the Cowboys have allowed the ninth-fewest quarterback pressure rate and Dak Prescott has had some success against man defense.
There are two other options I prefer more, though.
Brandin Cooks at +1300 and Jalen Tolbert at +1400.
I don’t expect a lot of points in this one, but I like Prescott to throw for at least two scores. Lamb is the alpha but he’s received seven targets in each of the last two games while Tolbert received nine and five targets while Cooks got two and six. All three have received at least one red-zone look in the last two games.
It’s more than likely that Lamb scores the first touchdown for the Cowboys, but three times more likely than Cooks or Tolbert?
