Is Cordarrelle Patterson a priority waiver wire add for Week 4?

Is Cordarrelle Patterson a priority waiver wire add for Week 4?

Updated:

Both Najee Harris (arm) and Jaylen Warren (knee) came out of last Sunday’s victory over the Chargers beat up. While Steelers’ HC Mike Tomlin told the media Tuesday that Harris is expected to play in Week 4 vs. the Colts, the coach said that Warren is uncertain to play.

In the event that the back sits, Cordarrelle Patterson should see an expanded role this Sunday, especially with Harris likely less than 100%. With both Harris and Warren seeing less work due to injuries this past Sunday, Patterson saw a season-high 34% of the snaps and he rushed for 33 yards on four carries, while also catching three of his five targets for 15 yards. Notably, Patterson was targeted on an elite 38% of his routes and he finished with a 7.8 FPTS despite the limited snaps.

Warren logged 34% of the snaps in the win. If he is missing from the picture this Sunday, Patterson should see 40-50% of the snaps vesus an average Colts defense. Ranking 26th in PROE, the Steelers have been a run-first offense this season and they should continue to heavily rely on their run game as two-point favorites over Indianapolis on the DraftKings Sportsbook. In this situation, Patterson would be a lock for double-digit touches if Warren is inactive. With that being a strong possibility after Tomlin’s comments Tuesday, Patterson is worth perusing on the waiver wire for fantasy managers that need help at running back.
