There’s an NFC East showdown on Thursday Night Football as the Giants and Cowboys search for their second win of the season.
It’s a primetime showdown, which means DraftKings is having a Thursday Night Showdown contest. In this mode, choosing the best captain is crucial since they earn 1.5x fantasy points. I’ve narrowed down the three players deserving of wearing the crown and leading your squad to victory.

Malik Nabers ($16,200)
An LSU superstar wideout dripping with swagger makes an immediate impact for the Big Blue—no, this isn’t a rerun. A decade after Odell Beckham Jr. took the Big Apple by storm with his curly blonde faux and dominant play on the field, Malik Nabers is blazing his own path as the next great Giants pass catcher.
There was never a doubt he would work in some capacity. He’s a physical freak that can jump out of the stadium and run with anyone—a profile that tends to translate to the next level. Even his most bullish supporters probably didn’t think it would look this dominant so quickly.
His body control is exceptional, as with any ball thrown within his zipcode, he is able to track and contort his body to come down with. Even the most preposterous Daniel Jones ($14,100) pass has a chance to be a completion because Nabers has sticky hands and is elite at high-pointing the rock.
Mike Zimmer’s Dallas defense has been practically escorting offenses to the endzone this season and is getting torched over the top. Nabers is likely to go nuclear and keep the start of a historic rookie campaign rolling.
Dak Prescott ($15,300)
After getting a massive raise a few weeks ago, Dak Prescott has struggled to get his season out of the starting blocks. He picked apart a woeful Cleveland squad in the opener but has been less than stellar ever since. Having no semblance of a run game doesn’t help his troubles, as it generates just 3.6 yards per carry.
It’s hard to imagine this offense continuing to be so uninspiring. The Cowboys will consistently air it out, and I’m banking on them figuring out their issues soon. Late in the blowout against Baltimore, it seemed like they stumbled upon something running gun and going no-huddle. Even in Prescott’s current state, the NFL has so few consistent signal callers that it’s hard to find that many quarterbacks you’d rather have in DFS. Oh, and he’s 12-2 against New York with 27 passing touchdowns.
Jake Ferguson ($10,200)
After a boom period in the early 2010s, tight ends have taken a sudden nosedive in fantasy relevance. Even with the two-high safety meta sweeping the league, it feels like only a matter of time before some big men emerge as legit offensive weapons. My favorite candidate to go up a level is Jake Ferguson.
The third-year pro missed Week Two with an MCL sprain but was his side’s top receiver in Week 3. He has sneaky agility and is a force after the catch. With Xavier McKinney off to Green Bay, the G-Men have a much less talented safety core, which Ferguson can exploit.
