Dalton, stepping in for the benched Bryce Young, led the Panthers to their first victory of the season, defeating the Raiders, 36-22, in Las Vegas. And Stugotz has a simple question: How are there 32 quarterbacks we think are better than Dalton? One of the biggest mysteries in all of sports. The leadership, the professionalism, the fire (and no, Stugotz is not talking about Dalton’s hair color). It’s all there. Don’t sleep on the Red Riffle, Dan-O!
Dan admits that as he was watching Dalton sling touchdowns he thought of Stugotz. He couldn’t help but get excited for Stugotz as he anticipated the 42nd time that Stu would say in Weekend Observations that the Red Riffle is back! Amazing stuff.
Dan says that if you look at Dalton’s career stats, you’ll be surprised by how much he has accomplished. Stugotz wants to take it a step farther…Dalton is a hall of famer! Stu points out that Dalton has more passing yards than Boomer Esiason, than Tony Romo, than Jim Kelly, than Steve Young, than Troy Aikman, than Y.A. Tittle. Those guys are hall of famers, Stugotz exclaims! … And Andy Dalton is not, Dan says in an attempt to deflate Stu’s balloon filled with hot-air.
