Best Caitlin Clark prop bets for Fever vs. Sun Game 1

Best Caitlin Clark prop bets for Fever vs. Sun Game 1

Updated:

By: Grant Afseth

As Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever prepare for their WNBA playoff series against the Connecticut Sun, DraftKings Sportsbook offers a variety of prop bets tied to Clark’s production.

Since the Olympic break, Indiana’s offense has been unstoppable, but their defense has lagged, creating an interesting dynamic for bettors to consider. Connecticut having the league’s best defense during this period only adds further complexity.

Let’s look at the best Clark-related betting odds on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the Fever and Sun tipping off Game 1.

Clark Points O/U 20.5

Clark has been the focal point of Indiana’s league-best offense since the Olympic break, and she’ll need to carry the scoring load to give the Fever a chance in this series. Her points total is set at 20.5 with over at +105 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Despite averaging 16.5 points in her regular-season games against the Sun, Clark’s recent production, even against top defenses, makes the over an intriguing option. She recently had a five-game stretch scoring 24 or more points in early September, including a matchup against the Lynx—one of the WNBA’s elite defensive squads.

If Clark continues her aggressive play, especially from deep, the over on 20.5 points is a solid bet for Game 1.

Clark Assists O/U 8.5

Clark’s assists prop for Game 1 is set at 8.5, with the over at -130. While she didn’t quite reach this mark in the regular season against Connecticut, Clark’s playmaking has been central to Indiana’s offensive success. Her ability to find teammates like Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell in favorable positions to score could push her above this total.

The Sun could choose to use aggressive defensive coverages to get the ball out of Clark’s hands when Indiana is operating in the half-court. With the Fever depending on ball movement to navigate Connecticut’s tough defense, the over on 8.5 assists could provide value, especially if Clark is forced into more of a facilitator role.

Clark Rebounds O/U 5.5

Clark’s rebounds total at 5.5, with the over at +110 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Although she wasn’t particularly active on the boards against Connecticut earlier in the season, Clark has shown she can grab key rebounds when needed. This could prove to be on the riskier side when compared to other props.

Given Indiana’s defensive struggles, securing extra possessions will be crucial in Game 1, and Clark’s all-around ability might make the over a worthwhile bet. If she stays aggressive, particularly in tracking long rebounds, this line could be beaten.

Clark Threes O/U 3.5

One of the more tempting bets on DraftKings Sportsbook is the over 3.5 threes at +145. Clark’s shooting from beyond the arc has been lethal, and her ability to get hot from deep could turn the game in Indiana’s favor. Interestingly enough, since the Olympic break, Clark has had eight performances with four or more made three-pointers with only six under this mark. Half of those performances falling under four makes ended with her having three.

With Connecticut likely focusing on limiting her drives, Clark must knock down outside shots to keep the defense honest. If she finds her rhythm early, the over on 3.5 threes could provide a strong return. The riskiest element of this will be her accuracy since having to hit at least four three-pointers isn’t an easy bar to set as a minimum for any player.

Series Total Points Leader +130

DraftKings Sportsbook also offers odds for Clark to be the series total points leader at +130. Given her scoring responsibility and shot volume, Clark has a strong chance to lead all players in points over the series. Depending on if she ends up struggling from three-point range in this series or commands heavy defensive pressure from aggressive schemes, there are other competitors to consider.

Connecticut’s DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas are formidable competitors. However, Clark’s best competition for this prop might be a member of her team. Kelsey Mitchell is a dark-horse option, averaging 19.2 points on the season—finishing as close as it gets to Clark’s average. Mitchell’s 23.4 points per game since the Olympic break is 0.3 higher than Clark’s average of 23.1.

The best players in the league tend to rise to the occasion and get relied on more to set the tone in the playoffs. Even with it being Clark’s first WNBA season, she remains a strong option to lead this series in total points.

Fever Series Winner +155

For those looking at the bigger picture, the odds for the Fever winning the series are currently sitting at +155. The Fever come into the playoffs as an underdog, but having posted a 9-5 record post-Olympic break behind strong play from Clark, they have a legitimate shot at upsetting the Sun.

The Fever’s offensive prowess will be key to overcoming their defensive deficiencies, but greatness will be required from Clark. The odds offer a nice payout for those who believe in Indiana’s potential to surprise Connecticut.
