Jake Ferguson Start or Sit: Week 3 Fantasy Football Advice

The Cowboys will get TE Jake Ferguson ($4,500) back from injury this week when they face the Ravens, but is Ferguson a good option for your fantasy lineup? He does get a great matchup at home against the Ravens, so there’s definitely reason for optimism.

Before suffering the injury in Week 1, Ferguson caught 3-of-5 targets for 15 yards. He was forced to leave that game in the third quarter due to an MCL sprain and bone bruise. While he was close to playing last week, he was ultimately ruled out vs. the Saints. In his absence, Luke Schoonmaker ($3,300) started and had six catches on six targets for 43 yards.

Ferguson has proven to be very capable pass-catcher and offers good production after the catch. The Cowboys are likely to lean heavily on their passing game, which includes plenty of early reads for tight ends, which should set Ferguson up for a solid return.

Another factor in Ferguson’s favor is that the Ravens have given up a total of 16 catches to opposing tight ends over the first two weeks of the season. Brock Bowers ($5,400) lit them up last week for almost 20 fantasy points even without a touchdown.

With volume coming his way, Ferguson could be a strong play at +180 to score a touchdown, and he is a solid play at only $4,500 in this week’s DFS contests, including the NFL $3.5M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st].

Ferguson’s Cowboys are one-point home underdogs against the Ravens as they look to bounce back from last week’s bad home loss to the Saints. The Ravens are also looking to bounce back after being upset by the Raiders last week. They are in danger of falling to 0-3 to start the season.
