If Tyjae Spears sits, is Tony Pollard an RB1 in Week 3?

The Titans have been rotating Tony Pollard ($6,000) and Tyjae Spears ($4,900) in the backfield this season. However, Spears has been dealing with an ankle injury all week, and might not play. Pollard could be poised for a monster game against the Packers on Sunday.

Pollard played 61% of the team’s snaps in Week 1 and 67% in Week 2 while Spears played 45% followed by 33%. The only other running back to get an offensive play was Julius Chestnut ($4,200), who played one snap in Week 2. If Spears is unable to play, Pollard would likely absorb almost all the workload.

In his first two games with the Titans, the former Cowboy totaled 144 yards on 33 carries (4.4 yards-per-carry) with one rushing touchdown. He was also very involved as a pass-catcher, hauling in 8-of-10 targets for a total of 52 receiving yards.

So far this season, Pollard has been the No. 12 fantasy running back just behind the injured Joe Mixon. With a few more catches and carries coming his way, he could definitely be considered an RB1 against the Packers.

Green Bay’s defense has allowed over 100 yards rushing to running backs in each of their first two games and gave up three touchdowns to Saquon Barkley in Week 1. Pollard has the potential for a big game as well as the clear focus of the Titans’ run game.

Against Green Bay, the Titans are 3-point home favorites with the over/under set at 38 points. Pollard is +110 to score a touchdown and -130 to have at least 60 rushing yards. He’s also a great option for DFS play this week. His salary is only $6,000, giving him the 17th-highest salary of all running backs on Sunday’s slate.
