George Kittle Injury Live Updates

Updated:

By: DK.Network.Editors

SEPTEMBER 21: Kittle was ruled out on Saturday.

SEPTEMBER 20: After missing practice on Thursday, 49ers TE George Kittle ($5,700; hamstring) was again not seen practicing on Friday. His absence on back-to-back days brings his status for Sunday into serious question.

Later on Friday, the 49ers listed Kittle as doubtful, while also ruling out WR Deebo Samuel Sr. (calf) out, as expected.

Without Kittle and Samuel, there should be more workload in store for the rest of the 49ers’ top playmakers vs. the Rams. Jordan Mason ($6,200) sets up to be an elite value play for a second straight week, while Brandon Aiyuk ($6,200) and Jauan Jennings ($4,100) will get all the targets they can handle at wide receiver.

At tight end, Eric Saubert ($2,500) will likely step up as the team’s top option. He hauled in both targets he got last week for a total of 4.6 fantasy points — Zach Thompson

SEPTEMBER 19: The San Francisco 49ers star TE George Kittle missed Thursday’s practice, and his status for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams is in doubt. Kittle has tightness in his hamstring, but the severity of the injury, right now, is unknown.

Kittle is the latest 49ers star skill-position player to be added to the injury report, along with teammates RB Christian McCaffrey (IR – calf/Achilles), WR Deebo Samuel (calf), and WR Ricky Pearsall (IR – chest/shoulder).

Kittle had seven catches for 76 yards and a touchdown in the 49ers’ Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Among tight ends, Kittle is second in receptions (11) and third in yards (116). Kittle is already a key part of San Francisco’s offense, but with Samuel missing time, more opportunities were set to be available this week.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter said that it is likely that Kittle will not be a part of Sunday’s divisional matchup between the 49ers and Rams.

Kittle has missed games throughout his eight-year NFL career, and has yet to play every game in a season since he did it in 2018. With Kittle and Samuel out, WR Jauan Jennings will be in store for a huge workload as WR No. 2 opposite Brandon Aiyuk.

It is unknown of the severity of Kittle’s hamstring injury, but as soon as more information is available, we will provide further updates here. — Ryan Wohl
