NFL Week 2 Breakout Performances to Monitor in DFS and Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Let’s take a quick look at some players that not only had big fantasy games for us in NFL Week 2, but also easily cashed some player props on DraftKings Sportsbook.

J.K. Dobbins Rushing Props

Dobbins was a huge surprise in Week 1, turning just 10 carries into 135 yards, clearing his rushing prop against the Raiders by over 100 yards. That’s practically unheard of, yet in Week 2 he topped his rushing prop against the Panthers by more than 80 yards! Dobbins is legitimately splitting time with Gus Edwards, as Dobbins has a slight lead in snaps on the season, 65-57. Somehow, Edwards has more carries through two games, by a count of 29-27. That said, Edwards averages just 2.9 yards per carry, compared to an absurd 9.9 yards per carry for Dobbins. The split time is concerning, and likely catches up to Dobbins at some point. But right now he feels like a strong fantasy value, and cashed his +125 Anytime TD prop once again in Week 2. A matchup with the Steelers, who rank top-5 with just 76.5 rushing yards allowed per game, in Week 3 seems like a spot we will learn a lot about how much we can trust Dobbins moving forward. Dobbins’ rushing yardage prop is set at 51.5 as of Tuesday afternoon.

Quentin Johnson Receiving Props

Johnson looked like a bust as a rookie last season, and it was very concerning that he didn’t clearly win the Chargers’ WR1 job after the departures of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. While preseason told us one story, the regular season is telling us another — Johnson leads all receivers on the Chargers in snaps, playing 86 total. He made a real positive shift in Week 2, playing 18 more offensive snaps than any WR on the team. Johnson made the most of it hauling in 5-of-6 targets for 51 yards. He’s now tied for the lead on the team with 11 targets this season, and leads the team with eight receptions. Against the Panthers, Johnson turned those targets into 51 yards and a pair of receiving touchdowns. Johnson went well over his yardage prop of 32.5, and not only cashed his +390 anytime TD, but also tickets to score 2+ TD at +4500!

Rashid Shaheed Receiving Props

The Saints are off to a machine-like start, and Shaheed has been an explosive piece of the offense. His receiving props in the first two weeks have been 31.5 and 37.5, both of which he’s blown past. In Week 2 in Dallas, Shaheed caught all four of his targets for 96 yards and a touchdown. He’s cashed his anytime TD prop in both games, coming in at +240 and +225. Shaheed’s long-reception prop has been set at 18.5 both weeks, which he’s more than tripled, with receptions of 59 and 70 yards. Up next is a Philadelphia defense that’s allowed plenty of explosive plays, playing its first road game and on a short week.

Alvin Kamara Rushing Props

Kamara was the fantasy stud of Week 2, shattering all of his props and cashing some monster touchdown tickets. To score four touchdowns wasn’t even available, but Kamara cashed as a +135 anytime TD scorer, and also cashed +4500 tickets to score 3+ TD. Kamara more than doubled both his rushing yardage prop of 49.5 and receiving prop of 30.5 yards. Up next is an Eagles defense that allowed 84 rushing yards to Josh Jacobs in Week 1 and 97 to Bijan Robinson in Week 2.

Malik Nabers Receiving Props

Nabers had a terrific matchup in Week 2 against a soft Washington defense, and turned it into 10 receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown. He flew past his prop of 63.5 receiving yards and cashed as a +135 anytime TD scorer. While the Giants might not have a very effective offense, Nabers usage numbers indicate he should thrive this season. He was targeted 18 times in Week 2, which was just shy of 70% of his routes run. If Nabers is down there, good chance Daniel Jones is throwing it his way. With the Giants set to be priced as weekly underdogs, game-script should set up well for Nabers to get peppered with targets this season.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Receiving Props

Harrison became a headline in Week 1 for the wrong reasons, bringing in just one reception in his NFL debut. If there was any concern of Harrison’s role in Arizona’s offense, it’s now been cleared up. Harrison was targeted eight times in Week 2, and while he only caught half of them, the 4-130-2 line was pretty impressive. Harrison more than doubled his receiving prop of 57.5 yards, and cashed tickets as a +140 anytime TD scorer and +900 to score 2+ TD. Week 3 brings a soft matchup against a struggling Detroit secondary that goes on the road for the first time this season.
