If you drafted Aaron Jones, should you pick up Ty Chandler on waivers?

Ty Chandler should be a priority on the waiver this week for Jones owners. The veteran has been the starter for the Vikings thus far, but Chandler has seen a sizable role behind him, logging 34.9% of the snaps. Plus, after being out carried by Jones 14-8 in Week 1, it was a much more even share in Week 2, with Jones seeing 10 rushes and Chandler seeing nine.

Not over working a 29-year-old Jones, who has a long history of being fragile, will likely be Minnesota’s plan all season. That should result in double-digit touches each week for Chandler, giving him standalone value in most leagues. This season, Chandler is averaging a solid 0.39 DraftKings FPTS per snap and he is averaging a career-high 5.5 yards per carry. Plus, Chandler has caught all three of the targets thrown his direction.

On top of the standalone value, Chandler would become a great fantasy asset if Jones was to ever go down with an injury, which is certainly possible, after he only appeared in 11 games last year with the Packers. Chandler had the opportunity to start the final four games of the season for the Vikings last year and, in the starter’s role, he averaged 81.75 total yards per game and he found the pay dirt twice. During this four-game stretch, Chandler supplied 13.9 FPTS per game.
