Why Braelon Allen should be picked up as a handcuff for Breece Hall fantasy managers

Allen is an excellent waiver wire target for Week 3, especially if you have Hall on your fantasy football roster. After logging only 18% of the snaps in his NFL debut in Week 1, Allen played 35% of the snaps in Week 2 and made some serious noise in the road win over the Titans. He rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown on seven carries while also catching two of his four targets for 23 yards and another touchdown. With a limited sample of only two games, Allen is now averaging 5.1 yards per carry and 0.77 DraftKings points per snap this season—that latter stat ranks him second only to Alvin Kamara of all the skill players who have appeared in both of their team’s first two games of the year.

Breece Hall still led the way for the Jets vs. Tennessee, logging 71.9% and 21 touches en route to a 24.4 FPTS performance. Even with this smaller role, Allen has potential to provide some flex value in deeper leagues. More importantly, if Hall misses any games this season, Allen will instantly become the RB1 given his efficiency as both a rusher and pass catcher. In his three years at Wisconsin, Allen averaged 5.9 yards per carry and he scored at least 11 touchdowns in each season.
