Bryce Young benched; Andy Dalton will start for Panthers vs. the Raiders

Young was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but just over a year later, he’s being benched in favor of Andy Dalton, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Panthers (+6.5; O/U 38.5) have looked awful in their first two losses of the season with a -60 point differential after being routed by the Saints and Chargers. First-year coach Dave Canales has opted to make a move under center and go with Dalton, who started one game last season and had 361 passing yards with two touchdowns in a loss to the Seahawks in Week 3. He started nine games the previous season for the Saints, averaging 205 passing yards per game with 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He’ll start on the road in Vegas in Week 3. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Panthers are now +7000 to make the playoffs.
