Last season, Jalen Hurts ($10,000 Showdown; 25.3 FPTS) rushed for 605 yards, but he had racked up 760 and 784 yards on the ground in the previous two seasons. A knee issue caused Hurts to hurt.
On Monday night against the Falcons, Hurts looked spry and was aggressively scrambling, rushing 13 times for 85 yards. Per NFL’s Next Gen stats, Hurts ran for 23 yards over expectation.
Hurts scored a touchdown on a Tush Push….
….and also did damage through the air, going 23-of-30 for 183 yards and this touchdown.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, Kirk Cousins ($9,000; 19.54 FPTS) delivered in the clutch for the 22-21 win.
With 1:42 left in the game, Jake Elliot ($4,800; 7 FPTS) put Philadelphia up 21-15 after converting a 28-yard field goal. Saquon Barkley ($10,600; 17.6 FPTS) did drop an easy pass in the flat that would have converted for a first down and possibly a touchdown. Per Next Gen stats, it had an 86.4% chance of being completed.
This set the stage for Cousins.
On first down, he threw an 11-yard pass to Kyle Pitts ($6,800; 5 FPTS). With 1:20 left in the game, he completed a 21-yard pass to Darnell Mooney ($5,400; 17.8 FPTS). Another pass to Mooney for 26 yards and Atlanta was now at the Philadelphia 12 yard line. A five-yard pass to Drake London ($7,800; 17.4 FPTS) got it down to the seven with 48 seconds left in the game. After an incompletion, Cousins hooked up with London again for go-ahead, seven-yard touchdown.
Philadelphia still had 34 seconds on the clock, only needing a field goal for the win, but Hurts threw an interception to end it.
In the $2.25M Monday Night Millionaire tournament, Hurts was rostered in the CPT slot on 17.5% of teams and 76.7% in the FLEX. London was in the CPT on 6.7% of teams and 36.9% in the FLEX.
