Andre Pallante ($7,200; 30.75 FPTS) has been both a starter and a reliever in his three-year MLB career. He’s started 27 of 135 games, and the numbers have been mediocre at best. The K/9 has never exceeded seven and the walk rate has been in the high-3s. He’s done an excellent job of limiting the long ball and the career FIP is a respectable 4.16, though.
On Monday, he had an out-of-body experience, striking out nine in seven innings while walking one and not allowing an earned run on four hits.
The nine strikeouts were a career-high and it was only the second time racking up at least eight strikeouts in a game.
For offense, Nolan Arenado ($3,700; 10 FPTS) singled in a run in the fourth inning, Pedro Pages ($2,600; 5 FPTS) singled in another in the seventh inning, Brendan Donovan ($3,100; 11 FPTS) doubled in a run in the eighth inning and a sacrifice fly later in the inning topped off the scoring.
In the $100K Relay Throw tournament, Pallante was rostered on only 2.5% of teams.
