SEPTEMBER 23: Sean McVay said Kupp will not be available for Week 4 in Chicago.
With Kupp and Puka Nacua out in Week 3, Tutu Atwell led the team with five targets, four receptions and 93 yards. He ran 24 routes while Demarcus Robinson led the team with 27 routes. Robinson only caught one of four targets for 32 yards.
SEPTEMBER 16: On Monday, head coach Sean McVay said that Kupp will be out “an extended period of time” and could be placed on the injured reserve.
SEPTEMBER 15: With 52 seconds left in the second quarter of Sunday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams, Cooper Kupp ($7,600; 7.7 FPTS) caught a short pass over the middle of the field then raced to the sideline for what resulted in a 24-yard pass play.
On the tackle, a Cardinals defender pulled him down from behind with his left hand, exerting force on Kupp’s left upper thigh. This caused Kupp to come down while another Cardinals defender got a clean hit to force him to the turf from the other side. Unfortunately, the initial defender was off balance and ended up landing on Kupp’s left ankle.
Kupp went to the sideline but returned to the game for the final play of the half. During halftime, though, the Rams officially listed Kupp as doubtful to return. With the Cardinals up 34-3 in the third quarter, it’s highly likely that Kupp is done for the game.
With Puka Nacua out for at least four weeks and Kupp possibly out for an extended period of time, the wide receiver depth chart for the Rams is mighty barren now.
After the game, Kupp was seen exiting the locker room in a walking boot:
Demarcus Robinson ($4,000) and Tyler Johnson ($3,300) would likely be the top two receivers with Nacua and Kupp out, while Tutu Atwell ($3,700) and Jordan Whittington ($3,500) could see elevated snaps.
In the $3.5M Fantasy Football Millionaire tournament, Kupp was rostered on 51.5% of teams, the highest number on the slate.
