The Seahawks listed Kenneth Walker ($6,300) as doubtful for their Week 2 matchup against the Patriots in New England. His absence should open up a huge opportunity for second-year running back Zach Charbonnet ($5,800).
After being taken in the second round before last season, Charbonnet played two games without Walker. In those games, he had 14 carries against the 49ers and 19 carries against the Cowboys. He had 60 yards and a touchdown against the Cowboys and added four catches in that matchup with San Francisco.
This season, Charbonnet was limited to 12 rushing yards on eight carries in Week 1, but he did add 29 yards on two catches. He caught this touchdown from Geno Smith ($5,500), who definitely trusts him as a playmaker.
In Week 1, the Patriots gave up 14.1 fantasy points to Zack Moss ($5,600), who averaged almost five yards per carry. The Bengals weren’t able to lean into the running game, though, since they were playing from behind.
If the Seahawks make sure to get Charbonnet involved early and often both as a rusher and receiver, he has a very high ceiling in Week 2.
The Seahawks are three-point road favorites in New England and Charbonnet has the shortest odds of all players in that game to score a touchdown at -105 to find the end zone.
