The Major League Baseball season is in the home stretch with under 20 games remaining for each team. On Tuesday night, the schedule is packed with 11 games on the main slate on DraftKings, which gets underway at 7:05 p.m. ET.
The Royals and Yankees get things started in the Bronx in what could be a playoff series preview in the AL. The schedule includes four divisional games and a rematch of last year’s World Series as the Rangers visit Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks.
With 22 teams in the player pool, plenty of strong options are available across a variety of price points and positions. As you get your winning lineup together, you may need to find an option to help save salary. The three options highlighted in this post offer nice upside even though they come at low salaries.

SP Aaron Civale, Milwaukee Brewers at San Francisco Giants, $6,300
Civale joined the Brewers at the start of July and has been a strong addition to their rotation, helping them build a comfortable lead in the NL Central. Since joining the team, Civale has been solid, going 3-2 in 10 starts with a 3.88 ERA, 4.62 FIP and 8.44 K/9. He has been drastically better over his last five outings, going 3-0 with a 2.54 ERA, 3.67 FIP and allowing three runs or fewer in each start. He earned over 15 fantasy points in four of those five starts and racked up seven strikeouts in each of his last two games.
His best start of that stretch came against the Giants. He allowed only two hits in seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts to produce a season-high 31.4 fantasy points. He’ll hope to have similar results on Tuesday in the rematch in San Francisco. The Giants have been a favorable matchup for most pitchers over the last month, scoring the second-fewest runs in the MLB and ranking in the bottom five in team wOBA and team batting average. They also have the second-highest K% over that span, so Civale should be set up to deliver great value with his salary barely over $6,000.
1B/OF Seth Brown, Oakland Athletics at Houston Astros, $3,000
What can Brown do for you? On Tuesday, he can fill in either at 1B or in the outfield and bring great upside at only $3,000. The A’s slugger has been a streaky producer throughout his career, and over the last couple of weeks, he’s been on a tear.
Brown has four home runs over and seven multi-hit games in his last 12 contests, going 17-for-42 (.405) with a .486 wOBA and a 48.5% hard-hit rate, according to Statcast. He has produced 10.5 fantasy points per game over that stretch, and he brings a great ceiling at only $3,000 on Tuesday night as the A’s open their division series against the Astros and young righty Spencer Arrighetti ($8,400).
2B Edouard Julien, Minnesota Twins vs. Los Angeles Angels, $2,900
The Twins have been slotting Julien into the leadoff spot against right-handed pitching, and if he’s in that spot against Griffin Canning ($5,000) and the Angels on Tuesday, he’ll be a great value to consider. Canning is letting lefties hit .269 against him this season with a .351 wOBA and has allowed 25 home runs in 28 games. The Twins should be able to do damage, and Julien should be right in the middle of their run production if he’s hitting leadoff.
On the season, the 25-year-old lefty is only hitting .219, but he has bounced back and forth between Minnesota and their Triple-A affiliate in St. Paul. Since his most recent call-up, he has looked much more comfortable and is hitting .283 over his last 17 games with a home run, three doubles and a .330 wOBA. He has produced double-digit fantasy points in two of his last four games and has that kind of ceiling on Tuesday, especially if he’s leading off.
