This parlay included players from multiple positions, backing Jaguars RB Travis Etienne Jr., Falcons TE Kyle Pitts, Titans RB Tony Pollard, Saints WR Rashid Shaheed and Vikings RB Aaron Jones to each get into the end zone first in their respective games. All five of those games kicked off at 1:00 p.m. ET in the early wave of Week 1.
It took just five plays for the first leg of the parlay to go green. The Saints got the opening kickoff from the Panthers on their first possession. Derek Carr found speedy WR Rashid Shaheed on the deep pass in the highlight below. The Saints went on to rout the Panthers, 47-10. Shaheed only had three catches in the game, but he had the first touchdown of the game, so this bettor was out to a fast start just like the Saints.
The Vikings also cruised to a Week 1 victory, but they didn’t score on their first posseession. In fact, the Giants had taken an early 3-0 lead but no one had scored a touchdown until Aaron Jones found paydirt on Minnesota’s second possession.
Jones punched in his first touchdown for his new team from the five-yard line. He gave the Vikings the lead they would never relinquish while going on to win, 28-6.
In the Titans-Bears game, nobody scored until the end of the first quarter. The Titans went three-and-out on each of their first two possessions with a total of zero net yards before putting together a nice eight-play, 79-yard drive that culminated in this 26-yard rush from Pollard in his Titans debut:
About five minutes after that touchdown, the Jaguars broke a scoreless tie in Miami after a long drive of their own. After two Dolphins possessions and a great punt from Jake Bailey, the Jaguars began their second possession all the way back at their own four-yard line.
Jacksonville got some strong runs from Tank Bigsby early on the drive before a defensive pass interference call on Jalen Ramsey gave them a 1st & Goal from the one-yard line. Etienne got the call. The third-year back punched it in for his first touchdown of the season and the first touchdown of this Sunshine-State rivalry. The Dolphins stormed back to win 20-17, but this bettor’s pick had already hit with Etienne’s short touchdown run.
The final leg of this parlay took a lot longer to hit. In the matchup between the Steelers and the Falcons, this bettor picked Kyle Pitts to score the first touchdown, but no one seemed to want to get into the end zone for most of the first half. The Falcons kicked a field goal on their opening drive, and the Steelers answered back with two kicks of their own. Neither team was especially close to scoring in the second quarter until the Falcons got into the red zone with just under one minute left in the half.
Kirk Cousins was strip-sacked by T.J. Watt who also recovered the fumble. Unfortunately he was called for defensive offside, negating the big play. On the very next play, the Falcons scored the only touchdown in the entire game on this pass to Pitts:
This was definitely the Crowning Moment this bettor was waiting for, since it completed the fifth and final leg of the parlay. With Pitts’ catch, the bet of only 10 cents resulted in a massive payout of over $13,700.
