Los Angeles Chargers topple Raiders 22-10 in Week 1

The Jim Harbaugh era in Los Angeles started exactly as advertised: physical, promising and ugly.

It was a rough afternoon for Chargers superstar quarterback Justin Herbert ($5,800; 10.8 FPTS), who had to deal with constant pressure and a receiving core that struggled to generate separation. The fifth-year veteran acted as a high-floor game manager and made enough throws to eke out the win.

Former Baltimore Raven J.K. Dobbins ($4,900; 25.9 FPTS) had a monster outing, rushing 10 times for 135 yards and a score. After consecutive seasons getting cut short due to injury, the 25-year-old tailback showed he still has plenty of juice left in the tank.

The Raiders passing attack had little to celebrate outside of a solid debut from rookie tight end Brock Bowers ($4,500; 11.8 FPTS). The former Georgia Bulldog was sharp with his routes and looked visually superior to former Vegas starter Michael Mayer ($3,100; 2.2 FPTS).

Harbaugh and company open at -170 odds against the woeful Panthers in Carolina next Sunday. Antonio Pierce will try to get his group back on track against Jim’s brother John next week in Baltimore, where his group is currently a +320 underdog.
