Friday night’s game in Brazil between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers wasn’t pretty early on, as the grass had players on both teams slipping left and right. The offense would pick up in a hurry, however.
Both teams ended with over 400 yards of offense and a player from each squad had a multi-touchdown game. .
Jayden Reed ($6,400 Showdown; 36.1 FPTS) was the main offensive force for Green Bay. After two field goals to start the game, the Packers finally scored a touchdown on a 33-yard end-around by Reed.
Per NFL’s Next Gen Stats, Reed covered 60.63 yards and had a top speed of 18.8 mph. The probability of scoring a touchdown on this play was 0.3%, but Reed rushed for 27 yards over expectation and broke a tackle.
With the Eagles taking a two-point lead in the second quarter, Reed put the Packers up on top by catching a 70-yard touchdown.
Reed finished with four catches on six targets for 138 yards and a touchdown. He ran 27 routes, tied for the third-most on the team.
Reed was awesome, but Saquon Barkley ($9,400; 36,.2 FPTS) was mesmerizing.
With the Eagles down by six in the first quarter, Barkley caught an 18-yard pass for a touchdown.
Per Next Gen Stats, Barkley hit a top speed of 19.76 mph and the pass had a 30.4% probability of being completed.
After Reed scored on his 33-yard end-around to put the Packers up 12-7, Barkley responded five minutes later with an 11-yard rushing touchdown to reclaim the lead.
Late in the third quarter, with the Eagles down again, Barkley scored his third touchdown of the game from two yards out for the hat trick.
A.J. Brown ($11,000; 25.9 FPTS) also had a nice evening, catching five of 10 targets for 119 yards and a touchdown. The big play was a 67-yard touchdown less than a minute into the third quarter.
In the $2.25M Friday Night Millionaire tournament, Barkley was rostered on 37.9% of teams. Reed was on 36.1%, while Brown was on 29.3%.
