While the designation is worrisome on it’s own, the fact that Justin Fields ($5,000) took all the first-team snaps on Friday is even more concerning. However, if Fields were to start on Sunday, he’d automatically be an intriguing DFS asset at just $5K. Fields’ passing ability has always been a question mark, yet the former first-round pick has rushed for 1,800 yards and 12 touchdowns in his last 28 games. Atlanta surrendered the 10th-most FPTS per contest to opposing QBs last season. Fields’ dual-threat archetype in this matchup screams upside. – Garion Thorne

With the Steelers’ season opener vs. the Falcons only three days away, this news on Wilson is obviously concerning for the 35-year-old. An update on Wilson should come Friday after he is further evaluated, but it feels like a likely possibility that the quarterback will carry some sort of designation heading into Sunday’s contest. After being released by the Broncos, Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Steelers this offseason, and just over the past week, the quarterback has been named a team captain and the starter over Justin Fields.
The former Super Bowl champion finished with a career-low 6.9 YPA with Denver last season, but Wilson still threw for 26 touchdowns and only eight picks in his 15 starts. The quarterback finished 12th in DraftKings points per dropback last season (0.52) and could be a contrarian option to consider if he starts Sunday, sitting at only $5,400. Now, if Wilson is unable to suit up, Justin Fields ($5,000) will get the start and will need to be on DFS players’ radars at his low salary.
