In case you missed it, rather than patrolling the sidelines for Alabama recent retiree Nick Saban is now on the set of ESPN’s college football mainstay, College GameDay.
And it is an EXPERIENCE.
Dan said on Tuesday’s edition of The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz that GameDay KILLED it this weekend, but it’s a show in transition. And that’s how it all changes — get shirtless, get a leprechaun and get a befuddled looking Saban with an expression that says “I’ve never seen anything like this before. This is what college football feels like?!?!?”
And Saban melted people’s minds simply by saying the word “s***” on air, even as it was wrapped around a point about it not mattering if you spend $20 MILLION on a roster, if you get the wrong guys you’re s*** out of luck. Dan wants to know: What are we doing???
Stugotz, for one, loves Saban on GameDay. The legendary coach is already Stugotz’s QB1 on that show. Forget McAfee, forget Desmond Howard, forget Rece Davis. Stugotz loves all of them but Saban is QB1 — Stugotz says he’s excellent and GameDay needs to utilize him more! Let Nick Saban cook! Even if Dan thinks he’s stiff and isn’t bringing you the younger crowd the way Pat McAfee is.
By the way, Stugotz wants to simply point out to everyone looking to boot Lee Corso from the set, he was the ONLY one with perfect picks this weekend. THE ONLY ONE! The old guy’s still got it!
