It’s another one of those weird slates where you’d expect everyone to be playing, but they’re not. The Reds and Padres are off today, which is very odd. Anyways, I’ll give you some of my favorite baseball best bets for tonight that you can tail on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Los Angeles Angels
The Pick: Dodgers team total over 5.5 runs +105
Reid Detmers is making his return to the majors tonight after last pitching on June 1. The Angels just about had it after that start, as he pitched only 3.2 innings, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks. He was sent to Triple-A and logged 14 starts where it seems it hasn’t gotten much better. I can’t say I’ve been an avid follower of Detmers’ minor league journey but the numbers show he’s made 14 stats and has a 5.54 ERA with a 5.42 FIP. Now, granted, when he was in the majors earlier this year, he had positive regression coming his way. His 3.74 xERA was WAY below his 6.14 ERA. It just doesn’t seem like he was able to figure it out down in the minors.
Coming back to face the Dodgers is one of the worst return plans in existence. This club mashes lefties and they’re almost back at full health. Most importantly, they have Ohtani, Betts and Freeman (likely) back at the top of the lineup tonight, which is a nightmare for lefties. Of those three, they have an average .345 wOBA against southpaws. I think this is going to be another brief outing for Detmers against one of the toughest lineups in the league. With Detmers likely out early and an Angels bullpen that’s been walking a lot of hitters lately, I think the Dodgers put up a lot of runs.
Kansas City Royals vs. Cleveland Guardians
The Pick: Royals moneyline -105
It was about a week ago where the Royals closed a nine-game gap in the standings with the Guardians. It looked as if this was going to be a very exciting month of baseball in the AL Central. Then, the Royals lost six games in a row and are now 4.5 games back with 23 games remaining. At least for tonight, I think they break their losing streak and get back in the win column. With Brady Singer on the mound, who has a 2.89 ERA and a .279 wOBA at home, I think the Royals are about to get back on track.
The Royals will be facing Tanner Bibee for the fourth time this season. He’s had mixed results when facing the Royals. He just saw them a few days ago and they tagged him for five runs in five innings. Overall, Bibee has thrown 16 innings allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on 18 hits against them this season. The Royals are a good hitting club against the fastball, which is Bibee’s main pitch. Tonight’s expected lineup has a .335 wOBA with a .175 ISO against that pitch. I think they’ll be able to get on him again tonight.
Texas Rangers vs. New York Yankees
The Pick: Adolis Garcia over 1.5 H/R/RBI +100
As a whole, the Rangers are not great against lefties. Tonight’s expected lineup has a combined .296 wOBA with a .116 ISO against them. However, we have some exceptions and one of them is Adolis Garcia. He’s done very well against the two main pitches that Carlos Rodon throws, a fastball and a slider. Against those pitches, Garcia has a .336 wOBA and a .429 wOBA. With how inconsistent Rodon has been this season, I have no issue with targeting against him, especially with someone who can hit for power. Rodon has been allowing fly balls at one of the highest rates of his career at 50%, which is still down a bit from last year at 53%. Nonetheless, I think this is a solid matchup to target Garcia at this prop at even money.
