Xavier Edwards ($4,400) hasn’t played since August 23 due to back soreness, but the shortstop was reinstated off the IL on Tuesday and is back in the Marlins’ lineup for Tuesday’s matchup vs. the Nationals.
Edwards has been sensational since joining Miami in June, with a .349 batting average and 17 RBIs in 47 games. The 25-year-old produced 10.7 FPTS per game in his previous 10 before this stint on the IL and in his return on Tuesday, Edwards will bat leadoff.
His $4,400 salary for Tuesday’s three-game Turbo slate is a notable $500 decrease from his last game and Edwards must be considered at this discounted salary, especially due to the fact that he is facing Patrick Corbin ($7,200). The veteran has strung together back-to-back strong starts, only surrendering six hits total during this stretch, but Corbin still owns an ugly 5.50 ERA for the season. On the DraftKings Sportsbook, Miami is a -115 ML favorite over Washington with Edwards back in the lineup.
