NASCAR is back and DraftKings is offering a new way to play fantasy NASCAR. The game is simple. Build a “Pick Set” (2-6 drivers) and decide if they will outperform their stat projections. Here is some advice to help build your DraftKings Pick6 Pick Sets for the NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington.
Tyler Reddick: Fantasy Points – 65.5

Darlington is Tyler Reddick’s kind of track. He’s the Cup Series premier rim rider. He loves the wall. His love goes beyond hugging the wall. Reddick practically makes out with The Lady in Black. The lady doesn’t share the same feelings. She’s a cruel mistress. Darlington is “The Track Too Tough To Tame.” Reddick has danced with The Lady in Black, but he’s never tamed the track. He’s led 174 laps in the spring race and 90 laps in the 2023 Cook Out Southern 500. The lap that matters is the last lap. Reddick hasn’t led that lap in his 10 Cup Series races at the oblong intermediate track in South Carolina.
Wins are great, but this is Fantasy NASCAR. Points are the point. A top-5 finish gets the job done. Reddick has two runner-up runs and a third-place finish in three of the last four races at Darlington. Those finishes make up the bulk of points needed to exceed 65.5 fantasy points. The rest of the points needed to clear the threshold will be fast-lap and lap-led points. Reddick runs the fast groove on the wall better than anyone in the series. He can stack fast-lap points while not leading. He can lead, too. Few drivers can make moves at Darlington. Reddick has dance moves. The extra speed the No. 45 Toyota Camry carries by running an inch from the wall enables Reddick to pass and pull away.
Kyle Larson: Fantasy Points – 66.5

The Cook Out Southern 500 is a long race. The NASCAR Cup Series drivers will turn 367 laps on Sunday night. There are plenty of lap-led and fast-lap points to go around. Reddick has been hogging the majority of the lap-led and fast-lap points in the last two Darlington races. Larson has been hogging those points his entire career. The two dirt track racers don’t mind the Darlington Stripe. They run the wall like they’re riding the cushion at a dirt track. They know how to live on the edge. They’re also aware of the consequences. Larson won the 2023 Cook Out Southern 500. It was the first time he’d won the crown jewel race. It was the first time he won at Darlington. Speed is found on the wall. It’s also where DNFs live. This pick comes down to one thing — does Larson finish? His speed isn’t in question. His aggression is the question. The more or less pick is a simple decision of finishing position. If Larson keeps it clean, then the Pick6 is an easy more. He can kiss the wall but he can’t afford to smack lips. The pick is the kiss. Larson does his thing and wins.

Create a Pick Set
Create a Pick Set by choosing between 2-6 players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of set competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you can not pick the same player twice and you must pick players from at least two different teams.
Enter an Amount
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
Sweat Your Picks
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Compete for Prizes
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
