Cardinals OF Jordan Walker breaks out for 41 FPTS on Sunday

A series win in the Bronx was in the Cards for St. Louis on Sunday, thanks in large part to an electric performance from Jordan Walker ($2,700; 41 FPTS). Walker led a 20-hit, 14-run onslaught by going 5-for-5 with a home run, a stolen base, four runs scored and three RBI.

That blast was Walker’s first in the MLB this season after he struggled in his first 26 games this season coming into this contest with only a .143 batting average, no homers, and a .200 wOBA. At Triple-A, he was much more productive with a .263 batting average and .335 wOBA. At just 22, Walker is still a key prospect for the Cardinals and he should get plenty of playing time over the next month to see if he’s ready to start next year at the MLB level.

While the NFL Week 1 isn’t until next Sunday, the Cardinals’ 14-7 win in New York felt like a Sunday afternoon football score. There was plenty of fantasy production to go around throughout the Cardinals’ offense. Rookie Luken Baker ($2,300; 18 FPTS) went yard along with Walker to return great bargain value.

Other Cardinals hitters with big games included Brendan Donovan ($3,600; 17 FPTS), who had three hits, Masyn Winn ($4,300; 14 FPTS), and Lars Nootbaar ($3,300; 32 FPTS), who homered in the ninth to pile on.

The Yankees got a laser home run from Giancarlo Stanton ($5,100; 21 FPTS) in the highlight below, but they couldn’t overcome a rough outing from Nestor Cortes ($8,500; -3 FPTS) and quiet days from Aaron Judge ($7,000; 2 FPTS) and Juan Soto ($6,600; 3 FPTS).

The Cardinals were a great stack in the $200K Bat Flip [$50K TO 1ST] and Walker was an especially good leverage option since his ownership was just 6% while his teammate Victor Scott II ($2,200; 9 FPTS) was owned in just 2% of entries and also offered elite value.

After losing two of three to the Cards at home, the Yankees are just one game ahead of the Orioles for the lead in the American League East. The Bronx Bombers are still -135 to win the AL East, and they have the shortest odds in the league at +240 to win the American League. They’ll head on the road this coming week with three games in Texas against the Rangers and three at Wrigley Field against the Cubs. The Orioles meanwhile come home for six games against the White Sox and Rays.
