The Air Jordan 1 turns 40 in 2025, so it makes sense to expect that Nike/Jordan Brand will go big to celebrate. And Sole Retriever is already reporting, based on a leak from @EldenMonitors, that one of the most iconic Air Jordan 1 colorways could be on the way.
Yes, it is being reported that the “Chicago” colorway of the Air Jordan 1 could be returning in Fall 2025.
Aside from the “Banned” Black/Red colorway, the Chicago colorway might be the most famous colorway of the Air Jordan 1. The colorway was most recently released in 2022 as part of the “reimagined” series and dubbed the “Lost and Found.” That drop was one of the most popular of the year, breaking the SNKRS app due to the sheer number of people attempting to cop this classic, even as it “reimagined” some elements of the design — specifically cracked leather accents as well as an aged sail midsole and red outsole — to help tell the story of the pair being “found” in the back on a mom and pop shop. The Lost and Founds were incredibly popular, selling out multiple times and currently having an average sales price of $376 (101% price premium) on StockX.
Of course, the ’85 Cut is slightly different the Retro High OG, which was the style of the Lost and Founds in 2022. The ’85 Cut features a more premium leather along with a higher collar and wider toebox. The ’85 Cut is more rare, and is traditionally reserved for OG colorways.
Now keep in mind, this release is still not confirmed, so don’t throw away those Lost and Founds, but it makes sense that Jordan Brand would want to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the shoe that started it all with a retro version of the Air Jordan 1 that most closely resembles the OG pair. UPDATE: Welp, we said the release was not confirmed. Hope you didn’t do anything crazy with those Lost and Founds today, as the rumor of the “Chicago” Air Jordan 1s releasing in the ’85 Cut in Fall 2025 have been DEBUNKED.
