WNBA Picks for August 27: Basketball Best Bets, Predictions, Odds on DraftKings Sportsbook

Despite only one WNBA game scheduled on Tuesday’s slate, there are still plenty of possible WNBA bets on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Dallas Wings are set to host the reigning champion Las Vegas Aces.

Let’s look below at my top bets for Tuesday’s WNBA betting card and an analysis based on recent trends and player strength.

Las Vegas Aces vs. Dallas Wings

With the spread set at -10 in the Aces’ favor, it would take a dominant performance to hit this mark. The Wings have gone 1-3 since returning from the Olympic break, with two blowout defeats against top teams like the Connecticut Sun and New York Liberty. It’s reasonable to expect Las Vegas to get the job done, but being on the end of a three-game road trip, Dallas can make it interesting. Regardless, unless you expect the Wings to cover the spread (-112), the best value appears in player props for this matchup.

Arike Ogunbowale Over 2.5 Threes -125

The Wings will need as much offensive punch as they can get from Arike Ogunbowale and Satou Sabally in this game. Ogunbowale is never shy to shoot the ball but can be a streaky shooter. She’s made three or more three-pointers in four of her previous five performances, with the only instance failing to do so was only by one. There are few players in the WNBA with as green of a green light as a volume-scoring guard on a team with a losing record. If Dallas trails early, which is certainly possible against a talented Aces squad, she will likely need to put up more shots from beyond the arc to help the Wings rally back.

Satou Sabally 18+ Points (-125)

A few intriguing options are betting on Satou Sabally’s scoring total. Since returning from the Olympic break, She averaged 18.3 points and scored 19 or more in three of her four games. If you believe Sabally is due to have another strong scoring performance, various thresholds are worth considering. The 18-point mark is the safest of these selections with solid value at -125, but the 19-20 range offers a jump in odds in comparison. A specific choice depends on risk tolerance and belief in Sabally’s outlook to go off for a big scoring night. The following are Sabally’s higher volume scoring total betting options on DraftKings Sportsbook, including 19+ points (+100), 20+ points (+130), 25+ points (+425), and 30+ points (+1500).

A’Ja Wilson Over 26.5 Points (-130)

Since the Olympic break, A’Ja Wilson has scored under her scoring average of 26.6 points per game in four of five performances. The lone exception included a 34-point outing against the Sparks, with plenty of matchups against top defensive defenses, including the Minnesota Lynx (twice) and Liberty. At some point, Wilson is due for a big scoring night. Against a bad defensive team, Tuesday’s game might be when it happens. It’s important to consider that Dallas has a 110.5 defensive rating on the season, ranking worst in the WNBA by a substantial 3.1 margin. Wilson is in the midst of an MVP campaign and could look to set the tone for her team seeking to go on a run by taking care of a losing team to end their road trip.
