Even with the Nationals‘ youth movement in full swing, the loaded Yankees looked like the inexperienced ball club on Tuesday night.
Despite being statistically the worst starter in baseball, Patrick Corbin ($6,300; 23.1 FPTS) took the bump for the Nationals and dominated from the jump. The man who wears 46 as an ode to Andy Pettitte hurled six scoreless innings, allowed just two hits, and punched out six. Corbin increased his pitch tempo and dominated the strike zone, producing his best start of the season.
Rookie Dylan Crews ($3,500; 15 FPTS) collected the first two hits of his career, including a scorching double in the second. Jose Tena ($2,300; 19 FPTS) also produced a multi-hit evening and smashed his second homer of the season.
The New York bats never got out of first gear and struggled to generate scoring opportunities. Aaron Judge ($7,000; 7 FPTS) added another extra-base hit to his historic season but was hitless the rest of the night.
Despite the loss, the Yankees are still +500 to win the World Series.
