With three WNBA games on deck during Monday’s slate, there are plenty of possibilities regarding WNBA bets on DraftKings Sportsbook. Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever will take on the Atlanta Dream at State Farm Arena to kick things off. The night ends with showdowns between the New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury, along with the Seattle Storm hosting the Washington Mystics.
Let’s look below at my top bets for Monday’s WNBA betting card along with analysis based on recent trends and player strength.
Indiana Fever vs. Atlanta Dream
Atlanta Dream Moneyline +105
Both the Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream have played some impressive basketball since the Olympic break, entering Monday’s matchup with near identical net ratings. Indiana is at 6.2, while Atlanta is at 6.1. However, these teams have done it in opposite ways. The Dream has played hard-nosed defense. They are one of three teams below a 95.0 defensive rating and play at one of the slower paces in the WNBA while struggling offensively. The Fever, on the other hand, have played poor defensively but have pushed the pace and put up explosive offensive performances with their 111.6 offensive rating trailing only the Minnesota Lynx.
This really comes down to which team will impose its will on Monday night. The home team tends to be a solid option in somewhat of a tossup or a style clash. If you’re a believer in Atlanta getting the victory, the odds are in your favor. Otherwise, pass on this one if you expect Indiana to get the job done.
Caitlin Clark Over 21.5 Points -125
The Dream are a tough defensive squad and Caitlin Clark will need to set the tone scoring the ball at a high volume. This is a steeper over-under set than the 19.5-point mark established before entering her previous performance against the Minnesota Lynx that involved her scoring 23 points in the 90-80 loss. With four consecutive games scoring 23 or more points and averaging 24.8 points during this span, it’s difficult to envision her not reaching 22 points. She just got it done against the best defensive team in the WNBA in her previous outing.
Caitlin Clark Over 3.5 3-Pointers +120
This is a bonus choice if you believe that Caitlin Clark is going to be aggressive letting it fly and have a high enough quality shooting performance that will lead to at least four made three-pointers. This value is worth considering. However, it’s worth noting she’s averaged 3.3 makes from deep since the Olympic break while converting at a 34.5% clip, placing her below this threshold.
New York Liberty vs. Phoenix Mercury
Liberty Total Over 85.5 Points -125
Both of these teams had multiple Olympians with Team USA, requiring a long multi-week international journey that included a stop in London before Lille and Paris. After coming out of the Olympic break hot, both teams have slowed down offensively. With Sabrina Ionescu simultaneously dealing with a neck injury, matters have only complicated for New York. Aside from a recent 94-point performance against the Dallas Wings, the Liberty has scored under 80 points in three of their previous four games. New York feels due for a breakout offensive performance that resembles its usual standard, which involves a league-best 106.7 offensive rating on the season.
Sabrina Ionescu Over 5.5 Assists +110 OR Over 18.5 Points -120
If you believe in the Liberty’s offense bouncing back, then predicting that Sabrina Ionescu finds her teammates at least six assists on the night isn’t far fetched. Keep in mind, she averaged 8.5 assists in her two previous outings against the Mercury, while scoring 20.5 points per game despite shooting 35.1% from the floor. The odds are more favorable to bet on Ionesco’s assists as opposed to her scoring figure. If you’re looking for value, this might be the route to take. Given the field goal production, she did get enough shot attempts to put up points at a level that comfortably exceeded this over-under figure in those previous encounters with the Mercury.
There should be plenty of fuel for Ionescu to bounce-back from finishing with only 12 points while shooting 23.1% overall and 16.7% from deep against the Sun, while having more turnovers (four) than assists (three). “I promise you we’re not going to have a game like (Saturday) again,” Ionescu told reporters after the loss. It’s safe to say, with a statement like that, she sounds confident in her physical conditionafter returning to the lineup from the neck injury.
Washington Mystics vs. Seattle Storm
Jewell Loyd Under 20.5 Points -120
This is a rematch following an 83-77 victory for the Seattle Storm over the Washington Mystics at Capital One Arena just under a week ago. Unless if you believe in the Mystics, there doesn’t appear to be a standout opportunity using team odds for the Storm, given how heavily favored they are in this matchup. Jewell Loyd, averaging 20.3 points this season, has her scoring over/under set at 20.5 points for this game. With Gabby Williams expected to make her season debut with the Storm in this game, there could be some short-term disruption regarding backcourt play for Seattle. A new key player being added into the fold with a star having an over/under set above their scoring average could present some opportunity.
