Red Sox 3B Rafael Devers hits home run No. 200 but Sox swept by Snakes

On Sunday afternoon at Fenway, the Red Sox jumped out to 4-0 lead thanks to this big blast from Rafael Devers ($5,800; 18 FPTS). But, as the afternoon went on, the Sox unraveled and Arizona emerged with a 7-5 victory.

Devers had 7.2% ownership in the $200K KNUCKLEBALL [$50K TO 1ST] and became the youngest player in Red Sox history to reach 200 homers. While their pitching let them down, the Red Sox lineup brought plenty of thump. Triston Casas ($4,900; 19 FPTS) and Tyler O’Neill ($5,400; 14 FPTS) both went deep in the defeat.

On the other side of the box score, Eugenio Suarez ($4,200; 29 FPTS) carried the load for the Diamondbacks on offense, going 4-for-4 with three RBI. His great afternoon was highlighted by this majestic blast over the Monster to put Arizona on top for good.

The Diamondbacks also got a home run from No. 9 hitter Geraldo Perdomo ($3,100; 16 FPTS) along with a solid start from Merrill Kelly ($8,600; 17.5 FPTS), who settled down to go six innings after a rocky start.

The three straight road wins in Boston for the Dbacks give them six straight wins on their road trip and a firm hold on the top spot in the NL Wild Card race. They are just two games back of the Dodgers for the lead in the NL West. They are +650 to win the division and +800 to win the NL and return to the World Series for the second straight season.

The three straight losses drop the Red Sox to five games behind the Royals for the final Wild Card spot in the AL. They are still five games over .500 and will look to get back on track on Monday when they start a four-game set against the Blue Jays.
