After missing multiple games after tweaking his hamstring over a week ago, Soler is back in the lineup for the Braves on Friday as they face lefty MacKenzie Gore at Truist Park.
The Braves are -258 favorites on the moneyline for this matchup since they’ll send their ace Chris Sale to the mound against Gore. Soler is -225 to get a hit in his return and +310 to hit a home run. The over/under for the Braves is 4.5 with the over at -105.
Soler has a salary of $4,800 in DFS contests, including the MLB $200K Rally Cap [$50K to 1st]. He will bat second in the order in a premium lineup spot behind Michael Harris II ($4,200), and just in front of Marcell Ozuna ($5,700) and Matt Olson ($5,300).
Since re-joining the Braves at the MLB Trade Deadline, Soler has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with a four home runs and a .414 wOBA. On the season, he’s hitting a solid .280 against lefties like Gore with a .408 wOBA and five of his 16 homers. He has previously homered in his career against Gore back in May of last year when he was playing for the Marlins.
Gore has given 15 runs with 10 walks over his last three starts while totaling just 14 2/3 innings. He could be a good matchup to stack against, and Soler will have a high ceiling if he’s back to 100% on Friday night. The 32-year-old veteran can be a solid addition to your DFS roster due to his power potential if you’re swinging for the fences.
His return to the top third of the order should give the Braves a boost down the stretch. They begin play this Friday six games behind the Phillies in the NL East but holding onto the third Wild Card spot by 1 1/2 games over the Mets. The Braves are -360 to make the playoffs but +850 to win the National League and +1700 to win the World Series.
