Atlanta has a rich history with pitchers, and its latest iteration continues to impress. Spencer Schwellenbach ($8,500; 30.6 FPTS) has had some bumps and bruises in his rookie campaign, but he was posting a more-than-respectable 3.39 FIP, 10.11 K/9, 1.67 BB/9 and 1.19 HR/9 in 75.2 innings pitched.
On Thursday, he neutered a potent Philadelphia Phillies lineup to two earned runs on three hits. Schwellenbach walked one and struck out nine in 6.2 innings for the win. Over his last six starts, Schwellenbach has struck out nine, eight, seven, 10, 11 and eight batters.
There were no crooked numbers from either side, as the Phillies scored a run in the first and seventh innings while the Braves put up one run in the second, third and sixth innings. Adam Duvall ($3,100; 20 FPTS) went 3-for-3 with a solo home run in the sixth inning to push the lead to two runs.
