Wednesday’s game between the Brewers and Cardinals played out innocently enough, as both starting pitchers held the opposing offenses to two runs and the game remained tied 2-2 after six innings.
Tobias Myers ($8,000; 10.2 FPTS) went four innings for Milwaukee, struck out five, walked two and allowed six hits. Kyle Gibson ($7,800; 12.6 FPTS) went 5.1 innings for St. Louis, struck out five, walked two and allowed seven hits.
Then the festivities began, as the Brewers scored two in the seventh and eighth innings while the Cardinals countered with two in the seventh and two in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extra innings. The O/U for this game was 7.5.
In the bottom of the 10th, Nolan Arenado ($4,200; 32 FPTS) went down 1-2 in the count, but sent a pitch over the left field fence for the walk-off grand slam and 10-6 win. He finished the night going 3-for-5 with a double and a walk.
Masyn Winn ($4,300; 13 FPTS) also had three hits on the night.
For Milwaukee, Joey Ortiz ($3,500; 15 FPTS) had a double, a walk and three RBI from the nine-hole while Jackson Chourio ($4,200; 28 FPTS) went 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base. Chourio is +6000 to win NL Rookie of the Year, behind Jackson Merril (-120) and Paul Skenes (-110).
