Tyreek Hill is the driving force behind the Dolphins’ passing attack. He wasn’t overly active at practice Tuesday, with Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network noting that Hill wore a removable brace on his right hand during practice. He was in uniform and had a helmet on, but Wolfe reported that he did not spot Hill making any catches.
No official news to come out of camp yet regarding Hill’s injury, so he is not in danger of missing any regular season games. Any potential absence for him would be a huge blow for the Dolphins, given that he has been targeted at least 170 times in both of his first two seasons with the team. Last year, he racked up 13 touchdown passes and averaged 15.1 yards per reception.
The Dolphins are already dealing with injuries at wide receiver, and Odell Beckham Jr. (undisclosed) is still not practicing. Behind Hill and Jaylen Waddle, they have question marks at the position. Beckham has an extensive injury history, Braxton Berrios is more likely to make an impact on special teams, and rookie sixth-round pick Malik Washington is likely to struggle to make an impact out of the gate. The Dolphins will likely take a cautious approach with Hill leading up to Week 1 if he is dealing with any sort of hand injury.
