Matthew Stafford has been banged up throughout the past week of the Los Angeles Rams training camp. Stafford has been limited due to hamstring tightness, but he participated in half of the team’s drills on Tuesday after only competing in the individual portion on Monday.
Rams head coach Sean McVay remains optimistic about Stafford’s status moving forward and said it’s undetermined if he will practice against the Houston Texans on Thursday.
Stafford played in 15 games last season, totaling 3,965 yards and 24 touchdowns while throwing 11 interceptions. After missing eight games in 2022, Stafford showed he can still be a good quarterback when he is healthy, even at age 35. Stafford finished 11th in yards and 11th in touchdowns while having the sixth-best QBR (quarterback rating) among QBs.
Stafford is considered the 18th-best QB in DraftKings’ best ball contests. He has an ADP of 135.8 right now. Stafford averaged 18.4 DraftKings fantasy points per game while having at least 20 fantasy points in six games last season.
The Rams currently have the 13th-best odds of winning the Super Bowl at +3000, seventh to win the NFC at +1500, and +330 to win the NFC West. Stafford has the 15th-best odds at +3000 to win NFL MVP this year. The Rams open the season playing the Lions in Detroit on Sunday night football at 8:20 P.M. EST. The Lions are 3.5-point favorites in this game while having an over-under of 51 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.
