Coming off an impressive run during the Paris Olympics representing his country of France, Yabusele is making his NBA comeback and signing a one-year, $2.1 million contract with the 76ers, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Yabusele and Team France took home the silver medal for men’s basketball at the Paris Olympics two weeks ago and Yabusele was excellent during France’s final three games, leading his team with 19.7 PPG, including a classic dunk on LeBron James in the gold medal game vs. Team USA.
Yabusele has been competing with Real Madrid since 2021 and joining the 76ers will be his second stint in the NBA, as the forward was the No.16 overall pick by the Celtics in 2016. The 28-year-old struggled mightily in his two years in Boston before taking his talents overseas, but Yabusele appears to be a much more complete player now. That being said, the big man will likely begin this coming NBA season as a fringe rotation player with Philadelphia, with hopes to solidify himself as a key reserve for the potential Eastern Conference contender.
