Tyler Glasnow (elbow) placed on 15-day injured list

Oh, those sneaky Dodgers. On Thursday, they announced that Glasnow would have his start pushed back from Friday to Saturday. At the time, it sounded like they were just shuffling their rotation. Well, on Friday, they placed Glasnow on the 15-day injured list with right elbow tendinitis.

Justin Wrobleski was recalled and will start on Friday. Bobby Miller has been recalled, per Russell Dorsey of Yahoo Sports, and he will start on Saturday.

It’s a big blow for a Dodgers’ pitching staff that has been ravaged by injuries this season. In 134 innings, Glasnow has notched a 2.91 FIP with an 11.28 K/9, 2.35 BB/9 and 1.01 HR/9. He was averaging 96.4 mph on his fastball and had a swinging strike rate of 13.8%.

The Dodgers are only two games on top of the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres in the NL West. DraftKings Sportsbook still has them as the favorites, though, at -270 to win the division. They are also still the favorites to win the National League at +190 and the World Series at +370.

After Friday’s game, manager Dave Roberts said the MRI on Glasnow’s elbow showed no structural damage and that he expects him back after the 15 days.

Stan joined DraftKings in December of 2020. It was a glorious time, except for that whole COVID thing, when we got Madden streams and boisterous bat flips from the KBO. I was brought on board to bring some West Coast flavor. I especially love hoops, and most of my content is in that arena. When I walk along the beach, strumming my guitar, the beat that I hear is not one of crashing waves. No, it is the beat of the ball bouncing off the hardwood with highs provided by the squeaks of the sneakers. Ball is life.
