Premier League Futures Picks: Soccer Best Bets, Predictions, Odds on DraftKings Sportsbook

The Premier League season starts on Friday, and there are plenty of ways to attack the futures market. These are some of the best bets you can make at DraftKings Sportsbook for the 2024 Premier League season.

Premier League Best Futures Bets

The Premier League is currently in the midst of a dynasty. Manchester City has won six of the past seven league titles and shows no signs of slowing down as long as Pep Guardiola is at the helm. However, Arsenal has challenged them closely the past two seasons while teams like Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham hope they can make the jump to that top tier.

When it comes to futures betting, you are not just looking to pick who is most likely to win; otherwise, you would always bet the favorite. The key is to look for value where you can find it. Unfortunately for non-City fans, it is very likely that Manchester City will win the league again, but there is no value in the number. Therefore, I am not placing any bets on who will win the league. However, there are plenty of other ways to attack this market on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Tottenham to Finish in the Top Four (+200)

Tottenham finished in fifth place in the 2023-24 season, just two points behind fourth place. That is despite the fact that it was a “transition year” with a new manager taking over and replacing their greatest-ever player, Harry Kane.

This team has now had a full season and offseason under Ange Postecoglou and has done a good job in the transfer market. Their most important signing was striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. Tottenham failed to replace Harry Kane after he left, but they hope to have found their striker in Solanke, who scored 19 goals last season, the fourth-most in the Premier League.

Aston Villa to Finish in the Top Six (+135)

Aston Villa had a phenomenal season in 2023-24. They defied all expectations to finish in fourth place and qualify for the Champions League. I expect them to take a small step back this year after losing Moussa Diaby and Douglas Luiz, along with some natural regression.

However, they also made some good signings by acquiring Amadou Onana from Everton and Ian Maatsen from Chelsea. With Emi Martinez in goal and Ollie Watkins up top, this team should not be plus-money to finish in the top six. The other teams projected to be up top are Chelsea and Manchester United, who have much bigger question marks around them than Aston Villa.

Brighton to Finish in the Top Ten (-110)

Brighton finished 11th last season, just one point back from tenth. Brighton signed some really promising young talent, including winger Yankuba Minteh, midfielder Mats Wieffer and winger Brajan Gruda.

Brighton also signed the youngest permanent manager in Premier League history, 31-year-old Fabian Hurzeler. Hurzeler should be a breath of fresh air for this young Brighton squad. I think they have done enough to leapfrog West Ham and Crystal Palace into the top ten.

Most Assists: Trent Alexander-Arnold (+1600)

The assists market is usually wide-open. It is almost always very tight at the top, and that group contains strikers, wingers, midfielders and defenders, so any player could theoretically be in the mix.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is the best crosser of the ball in the Premier League and has the second-most assists by a defender in Premier League history (just one assist behind his teammate Andy Robertson). His new role, which he transitioned to last year, also saw him play even further forward, creating more opportunities for assists.

Alexander-Arnold missed some time last year, but in past seasons, he has been right at the top of this leaderboard. In the 2021-22 season, he finished with the second-most assists, just one assist behind the leader. In the 2019-20 season, he also finished in second place in this category.

So he is capable of this and should thrive under his new role under a new manager. At 16/1, it is hard to pass up someone who creates as many chances as Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Golden Boot: Jean-Philippe Mateta (+4000)

The Golden Boot market is a scary one to bet in 2024. Erling Haaland has been a machine ever since entering the Premier League, winning back-to-back Golden Boots in his first two seasons. However, one injury or run of bad form can take Haaland out of contention here, so it is worth a shot on somebody with long odds.

Jean-Philippe Mateta finished in the top ten of the Golden Boot race last season with his dominant form towards the end of the season. By February 24th of last season, Mateta had only scored two goals. He then scored 14 goals in his final 13 games, three more goals than Haaland scored over the same stretch.

It is asking a lot, but if Mateta can carry that form into this season, he could make a real run at the Golden Boot. Mateta also scored five goals in seven games for France during the Olympics, which is a sign that he is still in great form.

Golden Boot/PL Champion Double: Darwin Nunez/Liverpool (+6500)

This is a longshot for a reason. Since coming to Liverpool, Darwin Nunez has had a problem converting chances into goals. However, the upside is tremendous because he creates many chances for himself.

Non-Penalty Expected Goals (npxG) is one of the best indicators of a player’s real goal-scoring chances. It basically shows how many goals a player should score from open play based on the chances they get. Nunez finished sixth in npxG last season, behind only the top strikers in the league.

It is possible that Nunez continues to struggle to convert these chances, but if he does get more clinical in front of goal, it is exactly what Liverpool needs. A striker who can contribute a large number of goals alongside Mo Salah could give Liverpool the boost they need to compete for a Premier League title, so I like the value on the GB/PL double.
