Jordan Addison avoids injury scare at Vikings’ practice

Minnesota Vikings’ rising star WR Jordan Addison suffered an ankle injury at Wednesday’s practice, which forced him to miss Thursday’s practice, but it will not cause him to miss an extended period.

Vikings’ head coach Kevin O’Connell reiterated that Addison didn’t suffer a setback, saying: “I don’t see him missing any extended time,” he told reporters at Browns facility.

Addison is coming off an impressive rookie season, where we saw him total 911 yards and 10 touchdowns while catching 70 balls. Addison’s 10 touchdowns were the fourth-most caught in the NFL during the 2023 season. Addison was third in yards, sixth in catches, and first in touchdowns among rookie WR’s last season.

Even though talented rookie QB J.J. McCarthy was ruled out this week after having knee surgery, Addison is still a great bet to have fantasy success this season. Addison does an amazing job at finding space and will surely be safety net for likely new starting QB, Sam Darnold.

Addison is being selected as WR49 in DraftKings best ball contests. Right now, Addison has an ADP of 103 overall. Even though, his new first-round QB was recently injured, if Addison is healthy, he has superstar upside. Last season, Addison was 21st in DraftKings fantasy points among WR’s. Addison scored 13.4 points per game while having three games with at least 21 points.

Addison should be good to go for the Vikings’ opening game of the regular season on the road against the Giants. The Vikings are currently -1 in that matchup with an over/under of 41.5 points. The Vikings have the 23rd best odds to win the Super Bowl at +8000 and are +300 to make the playoffs on DraftKings Sportsbook.
