Entering Thursday’s game between the Orioles and Blue Jays, the teams had played 12 games this season, with both winning six. Coming out of the All-Star break, though, Baltimore took three of four in the first series and this current three-game set was split at a game apiece.
On Thursday, Toronto got the series win with the 7-6 win and coincidentally now lead the season series, 7-6.
Toronto jumped out to a 3-0 lead and were up 7-2 after six innings, but Baltimore made the home crowd sweat a bit by putting up four runs in the top of the ninth.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($5,200; 35 FPTS) was a beast, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. He missed hitting for the cycle by a measly single.
Daulton Varsho ($3,200; 15 FPTS) had one hit, but walked twice and scored three runs.
Kevin Gausman ($9,500; 18.4 FPTS) walked three and only struck out two batters, but he went eight innings and allowed only two earned runs on three hits. The one blemish was a two-run homer served up to Colton Cowser ($4,400; 23 FPTS) in the third inning. Cowser ended with four RBI on the night.
