United States blows out Brazil in quarterfinals

The United States continued their dominant Olympic play in the quarterfinals, destroying Brazil 122-87. With this convincing win, the United States easily covered the pregame line of 27 points on the DraftKings Sportsbook. Devin Booker led the United States with 18 points – including 5-for-7 from beyond the arc – and Joel Embiid had one of his best performances thus far in the Olympics, with the big man posting 14 points and seven rebounds. Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant also added 17 and 11 points off the bench, respectively, and Durant notably passed Lisa Leslie to become the all-time Olympic scoring leader for the United States. Durant will likely get two more games in these Olympic games to add to his all-time scoring record and if the United States wins the gold medal, it will be the future hall-of-famer’s fourth gold medal.

LeBron James exited the contest after being hit in the face during the second half, but the superstar returned to the United States bench in the final minutes of the contest and appeared to be totally fine.

In this elimination loss for Brazil, Bruno Caboclo was a bright spot in the defeat, with a game-high 30 points.

The United States now advances to the semifinals, where they will meet Serbia on Thursday, who defeated Australia on Tuesday. The United States cruised by Serbia in the group phase, winning by 26 points and will undoubtedly be heavily favored for Thursday’s matchup on the DraftKings Sportsbook.
