Throughout his minor league career, David Festa ($6,100; 30.85 FPTS) always showed the ability to miss bats and rack up strikeouts, as the K/9 was in the double-digits in all but one season. As with most young pitchers, the control was wonky, but he did an excellent job of limiting the long ball, as the HR/9 was over 1.0 just once.
So far in 19.1 MLB innings, Festa has maintained the ability to rack up strikeouts, with a K/9 of 9.78. The control has been excellent, but he’s allowed six home runs, which has been the main culprit for having a 5.8 FIP.
On Monday in Chicago, Festa put it all together, striking out nine Cubs, walking two without allowing an earned run on two hits. He threw 82 pitches in five innings and notched his second win of the season.
In the $225K Knuckleball tournament on DraftKings, Festa was rostered on 16.8% of teams, the fifth-highest rostered pitcher on the slate.
There wasn’t much offense in this game, as Chicago had only four hits while Minnesota racked up eight, but the Twins were able to plate three. The big blow came off the bat of Manuel Margot ($3,300; 17 FPTS), who hit a solo shot in the fifth inning.
