College Football/NFL Best Bets: Odds, Predictions to Consider When Parlaying Futures in Multiple Sports on DraftKings Sportsbook

So this is kind of a dual purpose article, not just to show you a future that I’m high on, but also to highlight the flexibility on DraftKings Sportsbook. Not only are we parlaying two legs of a college football market that is rarely allowed to be used as a parlay leg across the industry, but we’re also combining them with another leg by crossing sports to NFL. I’ll breakdown the parlay legs and why I like them below, but this is also a reminder to always be tinkering on DraftKings Sportsbook. You might have some plays you like, but the price is a bit too steep. There are ways to get creative and find a price you like on those plays. Here’s my example.

Team to Make College Football Playoff: Georgia (-550)

Team to Make College Football Playoff: Oregon (-300)

AFC West Division Winner: Kansas City Chiefs (-230)

Parlay (+126) risk 1.5-units to win 1.9-units

The case for each leg here isn’t too difficult to make, but obviously we need to be careful slapping too many pieces together. We know it only takes one result failing to get there and the entire thing comes undone, but in this scenario, I feel we’re targeting three of the safer futures in all football markets.

Georgia was a perfect 12-0 entering the SEC Championship Game in 2023, but fell to Alabama. Arguably the best team in the nation (power ratings would tell us UGA was), then failed to reach the College Football Playoff. Expect the Bulldogs, who return a ton of talent, to be hellbent on winning it all this season. UGA is my pick to win it all, and it would take a catastrophe to fail to reach the CFP. Georgia has a win total set at 10.5, and has been taking money to the over. The schedule is difficult, with road games at Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss, but the Bulldogs will be favored in all 12 games. Realistically speaking, Georgia would have to drop at least two games to even be in consideration to miss the field, and that’s difficult to imagine. Unlike previous UGA squads, most of the top-end talent is back, including Carson Beck at quarterback.

Oregon isn’t quite the “sure thing” that Georgia is, but after choking away its CFP spot in the PAC-12 Championship game to Washington last season, I’m expecting a bounce-back here. There’s a lot of hype surrounding Ohio State in the revamped Big Ten, but I’m not so sure the Ducks won’t wind up being the best team in the conference (or at least make it close). Oregon is essentially a pick’em at home against the Buckeyes on October 12, and that’s a spot I’m considering backing the Ducks. What was lost in Bo Nix can easily be replaced in Dillon Gabriel, who will have elite weapons at his disposal. Oregon also brings in top notch transfer and recruiting classes. I’m expecting 11 wins here, but even 10 should be good enough to get into the field. This is a very clear top-five team, so with the new 12-team format we have a nice cushion here.

As for the Chiefs, I’m just expecting more of the same. It’s turning into a prime Patriots dynasty-like run for Kansas City in the AFC West, as Patrick Mahomes has won the division in all six seasons that he’s been the starter — and if we want to take it back even further, KC has taken the crown eight year’s in a row. Aside from the Chiefs maintaining their dominance, we have to take a look at the competition. The Raiders, Broncos and Chargers all finished under .500 in 2023. Las Vegas and Denver managed eight wins, but should have a down arrow next to them, with win totals under last season’s results. The Chargers might be trending in the right direction with Jim Harbaugh, but competing with the Chiefs in year one is a tall order. Kansas City is head and shoulders above the rest of the AFC West.

While each of these legs are a bit juicy to take on as single wagers, putting them into this plus-money parlay feels like solid value.
