Arizona jumped on Pittsburgh with five runs in the top of the first. They ended the night with nine runs on 11 hits. There were probably fans dialing 911 after that first inning, as Luis Ortiz ($6,700; -1.4 FPTS) served up three solo home runs to Ketel Marte ($5,900; 28 FPTS), Joc Pederson ($4,700; 18 FPTS) and Josh Bell ($3,300; 28 FPTS).
But the Pirates battled back with a run in the fourth, two in the fifth and four in the sixth. Unfortunately, Arizona scored a run in each of the last four innings to squeak out the 9-8 win. Marte and Bell both hit solo shots to end with two on the night. Every Diamondbacks starter notched at least one hit.
For the Pirates, the top of the order did damage. Andrew McCutchen ($4,100; 16 FPTS) went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Bryan Reynolds ($5,400; 14 FPTS) went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and scored a run. Oneil Cruz ($5,200; 30 FPTS) went a perfect 5-for-5 with a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base.
